Courses

Courses are carefully designed to provide intensive training, education and skills. They provide a sound background studies for those seeking higher qualifications or specialization in any field of Labour Studies. The short term structure provides intensive academic course work and interactive sessions.

The 2008 courses are available on request. Prospective students/ course attendees should bear in mind that the fees advertised are only for the courses. They do not cover other expenses such as accomodation and feeding.

Efforts are in the pipeline to introduce online courses. When introduced, interested persons will access course materials and trainings from the comfort of their offices using the Internet as a medium. MINILS, Ilorin intends to pioneer this system very soon.

According to the mandate of MINILS, the two main academic departments provide comprehensive short and medium term training for nominated officers and persons interested in labour education.

Labour Management Relations and Trade Union Education Departments both have a primary mandate of providing the necessary education and training on dynamic, yet volatile workplace issues of Gender, Conflict Resolution, Staff Motivation, Empowerement, Rights and other issues that is of common interest to both management and workers alike. The Planning, Research & Curriculum Development (PRCD) department takes responsibilty to do the background work in terms of the research, planning and inturns work with the other two departments to develop an appropriate curriculum.
